Most posters should include the following sections: background / introduction, aim statement, methods, results, conclusion / discussion. Representing data with run charts is strongly encouraged when appropriate. Interventions, when employed, should be adequately and concisely described. Graphics should be used instead of words when able, and the overall number of words should be minimized to what is absolutely necessary in order to improve readability. We strongly suggest using slides to illustrate your poster highlights and limit yourself to a maximum of six slides.
Three prizes will be awarded to the submitter for top scoring posters.
CRITERIA
- Title and aim statement. Is the topic and scope clear? Is an aim statement referenced that includes SMART criteria (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound)?
- Data utilized. Does the project utilize appropriate measure(s) to define the problem and gauge the effectiveness of the intervention? Is data collected both before and after any interventions?
- Intervention employed. Does the project include an intervention? Is a rationale given for the choice of intervention? Is it sufficiently described? Are results of the intervention described?
- Visual clarity and impact of the poster. Does the poster effectively communicate the relevant aspects of the project?
- Presentation effectiveness. Does the presenter effectively summarize their project? Do they appropriately answer questions that are asked?
FORMAT
Each group will consist of 4 to 6 presenters, and one judge. Each presenter will take turns presenting their slides to the other group members and the judge. You will have 5 minutes to present your slides and 3 minutes to take questions. This will continue until each group member has had a chance to present their information to the rest of the group.
At a minimum, we require your attendance during the entire poster competition portion of the event. That being said, we strongly encourage you to stay for as much of the event as possible, which will include a short talk.
