GME COORDINATOR CONFERENCE

2022
​​The GME Coordinator Conference aims to foster a sense of community through education and collaboration.  Become renewed and inspired through educational sessions providing tools, resources and knowledge to enhance your professional foundation in GME.

The conference will include speakers on wellness, professional development, diversity and much more.  There will also be a presentation from the ACGME and opportunities to network with other medical education professionals.   Program details will be available shortly.

The MMCGME Quality Forum  event is an education session, poster competition for residents and fellows to share ideas and innovations developed by trainees across specialties & institutions within the local medical education community.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Picture
Matt Bobel is a fourth year general surgery resident at the University of Minnesota. He grew up in Minnesota and completed his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently, he is in his first of two years of research, focusing on surgical education and colorectal surgery. To support this research, he applied and was selected for the Surgical Education Research Fellowship through the Association for Surgical Education. He is actively involved in medical student education and serves on the Medical Student Well-Being Task Force. He also serves on the Resident Advisory Committee for the Procedural Learning and Safety Collaborative. When he isn't in the hospital, he loves spending time with his wife, Hilary, and two dogs, Madison and Haley.

EVENT INFORMATION

The 6th Annual Quality Forum was held on May 30, 2018.  This education session, poster competition, and reception for residents and fellows is held annually to promote the sharing of ideas and innovations developed by trainees across specialties & institutions within the local medical education community.  Brian Hilliard, the keynote speaker, shared his experience in the University of Minnesota Medicine/Pediatrics program's focus on physician advocacy.  ​

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Brian  Hilliard, MD

Brian Hilliard is the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Chief Resident at the University of Minnesota.  Following completion of his chief year, he will be an adult and pediatric hospitalist at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. 

​Over the course of his training, he developed a particular interest in advocacy efforts as a physician, leading to the development of the Advocacy Certificate Program this year.  He focuses particular energy on health equity and the societal forces contributing to poor health.
