GME Advocacy Committee
Main Purpose:
The member organizations recognize that at both the Federal and State level our legislative officials are lacking in understanding of GME. The goal of this committee is to educate and advocate for GME while monitoring legislative activity that may effect funding for GME. The Board recognizes this committee will need to work closely with existing staff from the member organizations on these efforts.

GME Coordinator Conference Planning Committee
Main Purpose:
The GME Coordinator Conference Planning Committee is responsible for strategically leading the conference. This responsibility includes reviewing proposals for future sites, setting overall conference goals, setting topics, vetting speakers, reviewing session proposals, and providing guidance as needed. The Committee will ensure that the structure and content of the Annual Conferences are representative of the community.
Objectives:
The GME Coordinator Conference Planning Committee is responsible for strategically leading the conference. This responsibility includes reviewing proposals for future sites, setting overall conference goals, setting topics, vetting speakers, reviewing session proposals, and providing guidance as needed. The Committee will ensure that the structure and content of the Annual Conferences are representative of the community.
Objectives:
- Develops theme and overall conference educational program
- Recommends, recruits and selects keynote and general session speakers with assistance from MMCGME staff
- Recruits and encourages colleagues to submit abstracts for poster sessions
- Review past conference topics and evaluations
- Provide expertise on content and speakers
- Participate in recommending and recruiting speakers within budget guidelines
Reimbursement Advisory
Main purpose:
The Reimbursement Committee meets monthly to oversee policies and procedures needed to ensure accurate GME reimbursement, which is accomplished by managing the standardization and use of the RMS system for calculating FTE's and supporting CMS audits.

Objectives:
- Identify and analyze reimbursement challenges that impact Minnesota teaching hospitals and recommend strategic solutions.
- Monitor the RMS system for purposes of accurate Medicare reporting.
- Support the efforts of the MMCGME Board and MMCGME Services.
- Review policy and regulation changes and make appropriate adjustments in the reimbursement process.

- Assignment clean-up
- Rotation protocol analysis
- Software enhancement communication and support
- Identify level of RMS use at Hospital, Program and Sponsor
- Determine opportunities for software tool through enhancement requests
With a spirit of continuous improvement, this committee intends to reduce redundancies and inefficiencies in shared work relating to trainees. Through our work, the committee will increase communication and partnership between MMCGME member institutions.
