Poster and Event Details:
Poster Preparation:
Most posters should include the following sections: background / introduction, aim statement, methods, results, conclusion / discussion. Representing data with run charts is strongly encouraged when appropriate. Interventions, when employed, should be adequately and concisely described. Graphics should be used instead of words when able, and the overall number of words should be minimized to what is absolutely necessary in order to improve readability.
The display area available for each poster is approximately 6 feet by 6 feet. Posters should be sized smaller than this to fit comfortably. We suggest a poster size no greater than 42 inches by 5 feet.
You will need to submit a PDF of your poster by May 17, 2020.
Prizes:
Three $500 prizes will be awarded to the top scoring posters.
Evaluation Criteria:
Evaluation Format:
Each group will consist of 4 to 6 presenters, and one judge. Each presenter will take turns presenting their poster to the other group members and the judge. You will have 5 minutes to present your poster, and 3 minutes to take questions. This will continue until each group member has had a chance to present their poster to the rest of the group.
Attendance:
At a minimum, we require your attendance during the entire poster competition portion of the event. That being said, we strongly encourage you to stay for as much of the evening as possible, which will include a short talk, opportunities to meet other students, residents, fellows, faculty, and hospital leadership, as well as complimentary food and drink (both alcoholic and non).
