The LIME + MMCGME Leadership in Medical Education program is a collaborative, year-long professional development experience designed specifically for Chief Residents and Fellows in the Twin Cities. Through interactive, high-impact sessions, the program empowers participants to strengthen their leadership, teaching, and team management skills while building a robust network of peers in academic medicine.
This course is a premier opportunity to grow as a leader, educator, and collaborator within a supportive environment tailored to the unique challenges of the Chief role.
2026–2027 Program Schedule
The program consists of three half-day sessions (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) held throughout the academic year. Each session features peer-led discussions and collaborative group activities focused on core leadership pillars:

- Mixing up the groups and encouraging participants to meet someone new

- Resources provided, no PowerPoints

Areas for improvement:
- Have the facilitators talk for longer
- Give groups more specific questions to allow for deeper dives into any given subject
- Preferred to not have group discussions: hard for those with limited mobility
- Collect a list of recommended readings
- Summary/wrap up after each session - What does everyone think are the top take aways from this discussions?
- Change up the table groups after each topic
